Piktoglot is an offline-first Arabic vocabulary app. It does not require an account. Learning progress, settings, streaks, downloaded illustrations, and quiz schedules are stored on your device so the core app works fully offline.
On first run, Piktoglot asks whether you want to share usage analytics. No analytics event is recorded before you explicitly agree. Declining does not reduce app functionality, and you can change this choice anytime in Settings.
If you opt in, Piktoglot records app and learning interactions — such as onboarding progress, scene/practice/quiz activity, completion or abandonment, approximate duration, hint counts, search-result selection, illustration-download outcomes, paywall and purchase outcomes, and local-reminder outcomes — associated with a random installation identifier, not your identity.
Analytics never includes your name, account, email address, advertising ID, contacts, precise location, notification token, session recordings, raw search text, or the Arabic/English words you enter or answer.
Piktoglot may contact our content delivery network (Cloudflare) to refresh the scene catalogue or download illustrations. Analytics events are processed by PostHog, hosted in the EU. Apple or Google process store purchases and restores under their own terms. Your device's operating system handles local notification permissions and schedules — Piktoglot does not send notification tokens anywhere.
The on-device analytics log is limited to 90 days and the newest 2,000 events. In Settings you can export that local log, turn analytics off, or delete analytics stored on your device. Turning analytics off also clears queued events and resets your random analytics identifier.
Remote analytics events are retained for 90 days. While analytics is enabled, Settings can prepare a deletion request containing your random installation ID, which you can send to our privacy contact to have matching remote data deleted.
Reset progress removes your learning history, and Free up space removes downloaded illustrations, both on-device — Piktoglot has no account and keeps no separate server-side copy of your learning records.
Local data is processed to provide the offline learning service you requested. Optional analytics is used only to understand activation, learning flows, content-delivery reliability, reminders, and purchase flows. Where you are in the EU/EEA/UK, the legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Piktoglot is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect analytics from children below the applicable local age of consent.
Piktoglot is offered in the United States, Turkey, and the European Union/EEA/UK.
We limit analytics collection at the client and use encrypted HTTPS transport to our service providers. No system can guarantee absolute security. If we make a material change to this policy or our data collection, we will update the effective date above and, where required, seek renewed consent.
